Salisbury Plains Cemetery est. 1640 : Index of Names

Salisbury Plains Cemetery was established in 1640 and is located on Monroe St. in Amesbury. The location the cemetery is on was formerly part of Salisbury. The town of Salisbury was incorporated in 1638. Amesbury was incorporated in 1668 but settled in 1642. This area was known as West Salisbury until it was later incorporated into Amesbury. Union Cemetery est. about 1665 : Index of Names

Union Cemetery is found on Rt. 110, Haverhill Rd., in Amesbury. It's also referred to as Sandy Hill Burying Ground. The oldest section is located on the spot of the first Meeting House in Amesbury, erected in 1665. The location also includes Bartlett Cemetery (est. 1888) and Friends Quaker Cemetery, which has no markers. See it's location and get directions at Yahoo Maps.

Salisbury Point Cemetery is listed as being established in 1788 and is located on Clark's Road (behind Burger King on Rte 110) in Amesbury. The location the cemetery is on was formerly part of Salisbury. The town of Salisbury was incorporated in 1638. Amesbury was incorporated in 1668 but settled in 1642. This area was called Salisbury Point and was part of Salisbury until it was incorporated into Amesbury 1886.

Golgotha Burying Ground : Index of Names

The Golgotha Burying Ground is also found on Rt. 110 (Macy St.), in Amesbury Massachusetts about a half a mile east. It is the first burial ground in Amesbury but there are no markers.

The first settlers names on this memorial are:
Richard Currier, Orlando Bagley, John Bailey, Willaim Barnes, Thomas Barnard, Henry Blaisdell, Philip Challis, Anthony Colby, John Colby, Edward Cottle, Jarret Haddon, John Hoyt, William Huntington, Thomas Macy, George Martin, Valentine Rowell, William Sargent and John Weed.
