Oak Hill Cemetery was established in 1842 and is located at State and Parker Streets in Newburyport. The best way to get there is to go up State Street and take a right into the entry drive across from Greenleaf Street. The drive winds past a few homes and behind the mausoleum to the entry gate. See it's location and get directions at Yahoo Maps. Index of Names.
Mary White Brown
One in heart with her husband in all his plans of usefulness and beneficence, and in his abounding hospitalities her own quiet ministries of sympathy and love were unceasing from her presence none needy or sorrowing turned comfortless away. The joy of her own well ordered home, her coming into any circle brought warmth and gladness. Of uncommon purity of life herself, she had ever a mantle of charity for the failings of others, and always checked with mild rebuke a consorious spirit. A rare exemplification of all womanly grace and excellence the crowning beauty of her character was the meek devotion with which she sought the will of God and acceptance with Him through Christ alone.
