Oak Hill Cemetery was established in 1842 and is located at State and Parker Streets in Newburyport. The best way to get there is to go up State Street and take a right into the entry drive across from Greenleaf Street. The drive winds past a few homes and behind the mausoleum to the entry gate. The Reverend George T. Chapman D.D. Born at Pilton, Devon. Eng. Sept. 21, 1786. Died at Newburyport, Oct. 18, 1872. Æ. 86 yrs. 27 days. Graduated at Dart. College 1804; ordained to the Min istry of the Prot. Epis. Ch. 1816; Rector of Christ Ch. Lexington, N.Y. St. Paul's Port land, ME. Grace, Newark, N.J. and St. Stephen's, Pittsfield MS. In his sacred office he established a large number of parishes; by his published writings he elucidated the doctrines of the church and won many to the cross of Christ Middle Stone: Alice Buck Chapman the beloved wife of George T. Chapman D.D. Born at Bucksport, ME. Feb. 5, 1794; Married there, May 19, 1811; Died in this city, Feb. 25, 1870, Æ. 76 years and 20 days. She was lovely in person; more lovely as a wife and mother; most lovely in all christian graces. Right Stone: Georgiana Chapman daughter of George T. Chapman D.D. and Alice Buck Chapman Born June 17, 1814 Died April 7, 1910 Æ 95 years 9 months and 20 days. "Length of days is in her right hand." Proverbs III.16
