Elder Jabez True
Born Jan. 23, 1764; Died May 2, 1835; in his 72nd Year Minister of the Gospel for 40 years I delivered unto you that which I also received, have that Christ died for our sins was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. Marvel not at this;, for the hour is coming when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth. They that have done good unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation. If the dead rise not at all then is not Christ raised, why are they then immersed for the dead? Hear what the voice from Heaven proclaims, For all the pious dead; Sweet is the memory of their names, And soft their sleeping bed. They died in Jesus, and are bless'd. How kind their slumbers are; From sufferings and from sin releas'd; And freed from every snare For from this world of toil and strife, They're present with the Lord as The labours of their mortal life End in a large reward.
