Here is Interr'd
the Remains of the RevD MOSES
HALE, ƒecond Paƒtor of the ƒecond
Church of Christ in this Town, who
died May 25th 1786 : In the 38th
year of his age & 12th of his Ministry.

In the dark caverns of the ƒilent Tomb,
The old, the young, the gay, all ages come.
Here lies interr'd the Prieƒt in ƒable urn;
Here meet his flock & each to duƒt return.
Theƒe iron gates no more ƒhall e'er be burƒt,
Till heav'ns ƒhall wake the ƒleeping duƒt,
And then Creations vast, immenƒe ƒhall rise,
And men with Angels throng th' etherial skies,
The God of Nature thus fron heav'n hath ƒpoke,
Nor Men nor Angels can his word revoke.
It muƒt be ƒo! then let my ƒoul reƒign,
And be prepared for his will divine.

Till the laƒt trumpet ƒhall be blown
By the Eternals high command

Then will he wake with ƒweet ƒurprise,
And join the ƒaints above the ƒkies
To ƒing and triumph there.
